Detection as Code

Elastic Stack 9.5.6 appears on the Elastic blog

Dated 2026-11-02. Checked 2026-11-04.

Elastic listed Elastic Stack 9.5.6, a patch release on the 9.5 line, in the releases section of its blog with a date of 2026-11-02 (read 2026-11-03). We did not read the release notes, so we cannot say what the patch changes.

The 9.5 line matters to detection teams for one documented reason. The rule History view, which shows a timeline of a rule's revisions, compares them and restores an earlier state, needs Elastic Stack 9.5 or later (Elastic docs, read 2026-11-04).

What it changes for a buyer

A team on 9.4 or earlier does not get the History view. Patch level does not change that, so the upgrade target is the 9.5 line.
