Elastic scores 1,781 prebuilt rules every month

Dated 2026-10-05. Checked 2026-11-04.

Elastic Security Labs published Behind the tags: Elastic SIEM scores 1,781 prebuilt rules monthly on 2026-10-05. The post describes a monthly score for each prebuilt rule on Noise, Performance and Threat, with Profile tags of Recommended (385 rules) and Aggressive (296 rules). These are vendor claims, and the post does not publish the telemetry behind them.

The pipeline is deterministic and reads a 30-day telemetry window. A language model is used only as a fallback for Threat classification, from an approved catalog that humans review (vendor claim, Elastic Security Labs, read 2026-11-03).

What it changes for a buyer

Elastic buyers get a published noise signal for prebuilt rules, which the other docs read do not match. Replay the Recommended set on your own data before you rely on the tags.
